Quiet Summer Trading
The S&P 500 went very quiet last week, digesting a powerful breakout to new all-time highs.
The data continues to be almost exclusively bullish with no major new developments – it’s a typical summer lull.
The S&P is just below a strong technical culmination zone, where we might see a negative reaction.
Late August to September often see sudden volatility spikes with thin holiday liquidity, but I don’t expect a major decline.
Dips to my entry targets would be excellent buying opportunities for long positions, in my opinion, because we are in a stable, low-volatility regime.
